If you look at the world's most successful people they aren't necessarily more likely to have graduated from Harvard, MIT, Princeton, Stanford, etc. or any of those other schools than from secondary or tertiary schools .
The real problem is that parents believe it gives their kids a leg up in life, and because people have perceptions about those who have graduated from these institutions it does (at least at their 1st job); however, once these kids are competing by employee performance evaluation Read more [...]

After reading the opinions expressed regarding emotional pain medication, I resolve to restrain my criticism of other peoples' problems lest I expose my own ignorance.
And a sincere thank you to david becker for highlighting the cornucopia of quackery available to those suffering from chronic pain. Chronic pain makes a person desperate. There has never been a shortage of people who are eager to cash in on desperation. It's a little depressing, really.
Here's hoping that treatment of chronic pain Read more [...]
Nicole,
You just keep thinking that you are a representative woman if that works for you; in which case, you are right: I have not had a lot of experience with women like you. You are truly unique; I'll give you that. I've been married women looking for men the equivalent of 5 times, the most recent and last still going after 21 years; so I probably know a lot more about women than you do. You really need to get over yourself, pull your head out of the sand, and embrace the horror; lest you get trampled Read more [...]
Peter, I will bet any reviews law of attraction book the book will mention how courageous he was to renounce the survey results without mentioning that he only hired the firm to support his beliefs when he started writing the book. If he were really courageous he would delay the book, hire another polling firm with better survey techniques and see if his book still has any basis in fact.
So while he denounces the polling firm he won't denounce their results and will trumpet them without attribution Read more [...]
Where do you get the idea that gays are sexual deviants? Is it the Bible? Some other philosophy? Because if it is, then you are a conservative nanny-stater.
Are you worried about the children? You do realize that heterosexuals marital abuse children too (and about at the same rates), don't you? There is no correlation between homosexuality and the likelihood of that someone will abuse children.
Conservative nanny-staters are just like liberal nanny-staters. The only difference is the set of rules Read more [...]
I have made my opinions 'more than once' at WSJ! I don't want to repeat them. If I do, I will be accused of repeating them.
WSJ is PR for Wall St and Banksters. I try to post them 'counter. points mostly from well known Fin bloggers and other out of the box views.
It is easy to TALK OUT OF MY AHEAD profusely but you need authoritative parenting articles/reviews/blogs. support of my point of views, which I have expressed many a time. Those on the other side, most of the TALK OUT OF HEADS with out Read more [...]
These credit card processing fees are a shake down. It's like the mob of old, but the credit card companies are skimming without the use of guns or violence and on a much grander scale. It is absolutely infuriating that the credit card companies inflate their processing rates to business credit cardes for transactions of rewards cards while promoting them mercilessly to the consumers without the transparency needed for consumers to be educated about the fact that the use of such cards increases Read more [...]
I didn't see anyone blaming religion in the article at all. What was said was that polygamous societies share universal traits that show negative effects for women and children and disenfranchised males. Where did you get an indictment on a religion from that? Did I miss something when I read the article?
Polygyny requires a basic violation of human rights to work. It NEEDS women and bachelors to be undereducated, disempowered and malleable to work. That is harmful to all concerned and creates a Read more [...]
They are the same basic planes, whether outfitted for passngers or freight. Piloting them requires the same level of professionalism in the workplace and vigor. The idea that safety should be deferred or ignored because times are tough is the same mentality that led to a few thousand rail workers being killed annually before unions were permitted and safety laws passed. Now, fewer than 100 are killed annually. Louis, you present one of the best arguments for unionization, even though I'm quite certain Read more [...]
